Tackling Work Related Issues

Take charge of your own mental wellbeing. No matter what you do or how much responsibility you have in the workplace, everyone deserves the right to a life outside of work. Your mental health and productivity relies on you taking time out to revitalise. Here are a few suggestions:

Work smarter not harder

A commonly heard yet often ignored phrase. If there is any way that you can improve or maintain your productivity whilst reducing your stress levels then grab it with both hands.

Speak to your boss

If they do not know there is an issue how can they contribute to the solution? Management have a responsibility to productivity targets so if their employees are stressed or unhappy it is in their interest to attempt to resolve these issues.

Take steps to improve your working environment

Don’t skip your breaks, have a healthy lunch, make an effort to help others who are stressed and to improve friendships.

Draw a line between work and home

Attempt to detach yourself fully from work whilst you are away from the workplace. It is important that your home-time is quality-time.

Appreciate the link between work stresses and mental health issues

Go all out to improve your non-work activities to redress your work/life balance; exercise more, take up a hobby, relax, go on holiday regularly.
