Choosing a therapy type 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
I know that there are a lot of different therapies out there (you just have to look at the pages on this site!), but how do you know which therapy is right for you? I have tried hypnotherapy, but that seems too much like a 'quick fix' - how do I choose? Are different therapies right for different people? If so, how do you know which to choose? Do therapies go through 'fashions'?

I'd welcome comments / suggestions on this!

thanks

I think different people respond to different types of therapy, and unfortunately the best therapy for you can only really be found through trial and error. This process can be helpful in itself though, as the biggest step towards recovery is admitting to yourself that you have an issue which requires therapy.

Hey Mozzer
Thanks for that ... choosing the right therapy is not like shopping, and there is no quick fix. Part of me wants to try out new things and part of me just wants to solve my problems with depression. Looks like I need to do a little more work myself here ...
