FAQs - How can you decide if you trust a therapist if you are receiving your sessions online and have never met him / her?
|
Online Therapy relies on you developing your relationship through means of written communication, however most practitioners offering this service, will be happy to talk to you over the phone or some might be able to offer a webcam (internet video) introduction. We still recommend that you check their qualifications or their professional membership (like BACP – British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Security is fundamentally important since private and very confidential information is being exchanged via email and chat. It is the therapist’s responsibility to ensure that they provide their service via a secure method of communication. Here at Uticopa we allow therapists to provide Online Therapy sessions through our secure messaging service. Any communication (email or chat) is always encrypted and never leaves our servers.
