Symptoms Of Anxiety

Anxiety can be identified by numerous physical and mental symptoms. Here is a list of a few that people with generalised anxiety may experience:

  • Short temper and lack of patience
  • Thinking constantly of the worse outcome of any situation
  • Preoccupation with a single subject
  • Difficulty concentrating or sleeping
  • Depression

In turn, these mental symptoms can often cause physical symptoms such as:

  • Upset stomach, Diarrhoea, wind, frequent urination
  • Headaches, dizziness
  • Intense heart pounding, feeling winded, pins and needles, tremors
  • Painful or missed periods

For some, these mental and physical symptoms can perpetuate their feelings of unease or increase the intensity of their panic attack which in turn can lead to anxiety about their anxiety, and the cycle continues.
